Ron is jointly employed by the School for Environmental Research and the School of Environmental and Life Sciences - supervisor Dr Guy Boggs.

He has been investigating land clearing in the Darwin rural area, and assisted in producing various maps for theses, including interactive and on-line maps.

Ron made an animation of flying through the Daly Basin and was involved in three recent consultancies: producing posters for WWF; georeferencing and mosaicing of aerial photos of Wasur and Tonda NPs (PNG) for WWF; and vegetation mapping of the Daly Basin using Definiens for NRETA. He also made a spatial database of images accessible by a browser.

Having previously worked for NTLIS (Northern Territory Lands Information Systems), he is familiar with what NT Government data is available and how to obtain it.

Ron has a background in computer science and medicine, having worked in research laboratories in Switzerland for 10 years. He has co-authored 11 research papers – in the field of medical science – and is in the process of submitting another paper looking at bore water and melliodosis in Darwin rural area.
